Celebrate the 4th of July in Seward, Nebraska
since 1868
Since 1868, the Seward Community has honored and celebrated the anniversary of our United States. The first celebration was celebrated on the same town square, as today. They men “dug a well and the women sewed an American Flag. Speeches were given and a celebration was created!” This celebration was a high light of the City of Seward Centennial in 1967 and in 1976, Seward hosted the official July fourth for Nebraska’s Bicentennial celebration of the United States.

Grand Parade
The grand parade kicks off at 4:00 and travels west down Seward street through the heart of downtown.

National Guard Museum
Dedication of new Nebraska National Guard Museum exhibits will take place at 9:00 a.m. on July 4th.

Car Show
View a wide variety of antique, classic and newer cars, trucks & motorcycles at the annual Car Show.

Fireworks Display
A free, giant fireworks extravaganza is held at Plum Creek Park at 10:00 p.m.

Craft Fair
"Crafts on the Square” is one of Nebraska’s Best Handmade Craft Shows and takes place in the courthouse lawn from 9:00 – 4:00.
